Says Michael Harper, "If you can't call my complaints trivialities by this book's end, then you can take comfort in the fact that you've learned nothing."
Shocked out of the complacency of a normal and active adolescence, Harper has had to come to terms with MS. The disease had progressed to the point where he required help to go about his daily life.
Indeed, help arrived in the form of Isaac, who had survived genocide in Sudan. The stories he shared with Michael--and now shares with us--are almost unbelievable. They gave Michael a whole new perspective on how to appreciate his life as well as the lives of others.
About the Author
After a short but intense and eventful youth, Mike Harper was diagnosed with MS. The disease progressed rapidly, and soon he knew he would need help to get through each day. At this point, Isaac entered his life--and changed it. Isaac's stories about his life in Sudan, and the genocide that followed, boggle the mind and give one much to think about. Mike decided to write his book to share both his story and Isaac's--and he wrote it with one finger.
In addition to his companion, Isaac, Mike's support group consists of a beautiful little daughter, Kathleen, who lights up his life; his loving parents and brothers; and an assortment of friends that make sure he gets to his beloved concerts and hockey games.
